Edits
To create these edits I asked one of my friends that uses an e-cigarette whether they would take part in the shoot. They blew the vapour in front of a black sheet and I took the images. In order to add the colour element I duplicated the original image three or four times, depending on how many colours would be in the image. I then edited the colour of the different layers separately by using the colour balance tool. I then used the eraser to allow the different coloured layers to become one image with all of the different colours making an appearance. I also edited the black negative space to make sure that it was black to ensure the vapour was the main part of the image by using the brush tool.
Development Edits
In order to develop my edits for this shoot I edited additional images by doing the same as the above edits, I then created a new canvas and flipped and mirrored the images. I did this to create an alternative pattern from the original image whilst also allowing the colours of the images to enhance the pattern. I also believe that these mirrored images capture people's attention and can be quite memorising.
Additional Shoot
After the previous shoot where I digitally edited the colour of the smoke, I decided I wanted to try and do the shoot by using different coloured lighting when shooting the images. As a result, I have done an additional shoot for smoke art.

Edits
To create these edits I took images of a friend blowing e-cigarette smoke onto a multi-coloured light. I then edited these images in Photoshop by changing the levels to make the darker parts of the image black in order to enhance the colours by making them stand out against the background, I also increased the contrast.
